The Association of Art Historians (AAH) was formed in 1974 to support and promote the study of art history. We are the national organisation for professional art and design historians, researchers or students who are involved in education, galleries, museums and art-related publishing, or any other activity linked with art and design history.

The AAH is pleased to announce the winners of the Student Dissertation Prize 2007-2008, which is awarded in collaboration with Thames & Hudson Publishers.

Congratulations to BA Dissertation winner , Jack Hartnall (Courtauld Institute) for his essay, 'Beware of the God: Humour and Possible Apotropaic Function in a Sculpture from Herculaneum'

Congratulations also to MA Dissertation winner, Marie Palin, (The Open University) for her essay, Bellmer’s Poupées, Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and their Subversion of Female Gender Stereotypes in Interwar Germany
