Conference - “ACT UP: Thirty Years Fighting AIDS”, University of York (UK)

2017 is the 30th anniversary of the founding of ACT UP, the international advocacy group fighting to end the AIDS crisis. Today, the organization continues to fight, leading educational campaigns all over the world. 

To coincide with this anniversary, a one-day conference will be held at the University of York on June 1st and 2nd, 2017 which will bring together academics from a variety of disciplines to reflect upon what has changed, and what has not, in the past thirty years.

Conference - Inside | Outside: Trading between Art and Architecture. 4-6 May 2017, Ghent.

We are pleased to announce the upcoming conference, Inside | Outside: Trading between Art and Architecture, to be held at KASK / School of Arts, Louis Pasteurlaan 2, 9000 Ghent, between 4-6 May 2017.

Artist Sarah Oppenheimer (US) and architect John Körmeling (NL) will deliver the keynote presentations.

Conference - Diverse Migrations: Photography out of Bounds

Diverse Migrations: Photography out of Bounds will explore how these processes affect peoples whose photographic histories are currently understudied.

Call for papers - Singular Acts: The Role of the Individual in the Transformation of Collective Culture

The Warburg Institute will host its second Postgraduate Symposium on 16 November 2017. This year’s Symposium focuses on particular personalities who acted for or against historical and cultural change. The Symposium will bring together speakers from different backgrounds in the humanities and draw on a variety of disciplinary tools and methodologies.
