Workshop - ECR Training Day: Using Historical Matrices & Printing Surfaces in Research

This hands-on, object-based training day will introduce 10 participants to the research of historical matrices/printing surfaces (e.g. cut woodblocks, etched metal plates, litho stones), emphasising pre-1830.

Free. Includes lunch, wine reception, and travel. Participants must be PhD students or have held a PhD for under 10 years (taken in/after 2007).

Conference - Michelangelo & Sebastiano: An academic conference about their art and collaboration

A two-day international conference at the National Gallery, London, on Michelangelo and Sebastiano del Piombo, exploring their creative relationship, their lives, times and art. Areas examined include their creative processes, with results drawn in part from technical analysis; their intellectual and theological contexts; their patrons; and their legacies, as well as the creative work that went into the exhibition.

Historically and politically fraught, the body has often become an intersectional point for science, art, philosophy and a wide range of artistic and scientific practices inform the way we imagine and visualise the body, and subsequently have represented it in art.

Collaborative Doctoral Studentship - Making an impression: British women printmakers in the Long Eighteenth Century

Online website – learning and teaching resource on feminism and contemporary art (post-1970)

n.paradoxa’s MOOC has just opened to the public and offers 10 free lessons, open to join anytime and for users to continue at their own pace. The subject of the MOOC is contemporary art (post-1970) and feminism. Anyone can join, registration with an email is all that is required.
