AAH Student Summer School 2002
Held at The University of Essex on 6 - 7 July 2002
Don't miss this opportunity!
Book your place now for a weekend of intellectual stimulation, networking and fun! The third AAH Summer School for research students at every level aspires to be exciting, practical and inspiring. Whether you are in the final stages of your MA or PhD, an undergraduate planning to take a higher degree, or somewhere in between, you will leave the Summer School with fresh ideas about your research and your future.
You will have the opportunity to make a short presentation of your own work, contribute to lively discussions, find answers to your research problems, network with people studying related topics and think about (or re-think!) your future as an historian of art and visual culture.
To ensure the intimacy and constructive interaction necessary for such an event places are strictly limited and will be assigned on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Programme of Events
Over two days there will be a varied programme of student papers, forum discussions, workshops and lectures from guest speakers, Lauren Booker and Dr Richard Clay.
Delegates will have the chance to present and discuss their own work formally, whilst forums and workshops will provide an open and relaxed opportunity to discuss more practical issues, share research problems and look at topics relevant to studying Art History and Visual Culture.
Invited Speakers
Lauren Booker, a freelance Medieval Parchment Restorer and Book Binder, will be talking about careers in restoration.
Dr Richard Clay, a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, will be speaking about widening access in Art History.
